🅿️ Parking
Oakley: ✅
Parking is free in the adjacent lot! This is probably the easiest cafe to park next to for free.
Montgomery: ⚠️
A bit tricky in my opinion. Some say there is free parking in an adjacent lot, some say there is a parking garage, but I’ve had to park in a lot north of the shop (for free) and walk a few minutes.
4th Street & Findlay: 💰
All parking will come at a price and you’ll have to walk a short distance to get to the shop but, especially for 4th St, it’s worth it.
🐶 Pet Friendliness
Oakley: 😿
You will sadly have to leave your little friends at home.
Montgomery: ✅
Pet-friendly outdoor seating.
4th St: 😿

Findlay: ✅
Pet-friendly outdoor seating.
👨🦽 Wheelchair Accessibility
Oakley: ⚠️
The entrance has a few-inch step, but, for some, may be pushed up with no great difficulty. Just beware.
Montgomery: ✅
The shop is ground level with no steps so you will have full access.
4th St: ❌
Unfortunately, there are multiple steps leading up to the front door.
Findlay: ✅
There’s a ramp at their side door entrance, leading into the main ordering area. However, the door connecting to the back seating area is quite skinny.

My Experience
I speak in all honesty when I say Deeper Roots has consistently had the friendliest service at all locations. I’ll quickly break down my experiences at each:
In Oakley, the barista and two random customers struck up a conversation somehow on how European personalities differ from American, and, since it seemed an open conversation, I turned around and joined. I told them of the “German stare” I learned by two lovely friends I made in Italy from Berlin, and it ended up being a delightful light-hearted discussion which brightened the room with laughter.
In Montgomery, I was honestly surprised by the polite and down-to-earth conduct of the two young male baristas. Some baristas are nice, but others are kind, if you know what I mean—and these two were the latter, upon me first walking into the room. I don’t know what was twisting the panties of the patrons that day but either there wasn’t enough cream in their latte or they didn’t hear their order called, but the guys handled their nit-pickiness with all patience and smiles.
My first time at Fourth Street, I walked in and took in the new scene, likely taking a picture while I waited in line. Which explains why I didn’t realize there wasn’t even a line in front of me and the prettiest barista was patiently waiting there for me. It may not be fair of me to include the beauty of a person as a reason for my positive experience with it, but I’m mentioning it because it only added to her pleasantness. She was pretty and kind, bright-smiling and patient, and coffee always tastes better from the hands of such a person.
Lastly, today, I walked into the Findlay shop through a door with a handle that looks like you should pull it, but don’t! You’ll look bad, because in words above the handle, it says “Push.” And, whether or not I pulled it, I walked in and asked the barista if people always pull on that door. She smiled and said, “I try to keep myself busy up here (at the counter) and not watch people mess with the door.” While I was waiting for my Honey Bear, she was asking the patron who was ordering about his leg brace and how he hurt himself, with such sympathy and care. Like a weirdo, I joined the conversation and learned it was a motorcycle accident. After he left, the barista handed me my order and we spoke briefly on how we are both glad we didn’t buy motorcycles though we came close to it.
Anyway, if you’re looking for a place to meet up with friends or coworkers, I’d suggest the 4th Street location as it’s the biggest, with a large conference table and some couch seating. On the other hand, Findlay is their smallest location, and also the least naturally-lit. One reviewer even said they didn’t realize there was a seating area, which is a room in the back of the first, which is primarily the ordering area. That said, it was the easiest location for me to get work done and the least distracting, and there are seating options right outside in a large, safe and aesthetic alleyway.
